Did you hear about the 2 new Instagram features from Tailwind yet?
Tailwind is always working hard on developing new features for us, to make our Instagram and Pinterest life so much easier.
That’s why we’re now able to put all these not always so pretty looking hashtags automatically into the 1. comment, when posting an Image/Video on Instagram. Did you notice it? Image or video! Tailwind now supports video auto posting, too. Yay!
(This post contains affiliate links, this means I may receive a small commission, at no extra cost to you. I just recommend products I tried, used and love. This helps me to monetize this website. Thank you for your support.)
These are 2 awesome new and helpful Instagram features for the Tailwind app. Read on and I will tell you a lil more about these features.
These are my personal results, but Tailwind also publishes the Typical Results of Tailwind Members every year, you can find it here.
Post hashtags in first comment
Hashtags are very important for Instagram, because the right hashtags can boost our reach enormously.
The recommended maximum number of hashtags per post is 30 and such a hashtag bulk can look spamy or may bother people looking at your interesting and beautiful image or video and your caption.
Tailwind has a great new Instagram feature to solve this problem, so that the hashtags in your caption are now simply posted as first comment at the touch of a button.
This is really great, because now your image description is not disturbed by this hashtag bulk. Instead, the hashtags are nicely hidden in the first comment and still help you achieve the same range.
Here you can see how it works.
You write your caption as usual, click on the # symbol to get the best hashtags from Tailwind suggested and add your hashtags at the end of the post. When you’re done, just put the check mark on “post hashtags in first comments” and then click on “add to queue”.
What is really cool, by hover over “post hashtags in first comment” you already get a preview of your caption and first comment.
Another benefit is, you already got a comment under your picture or video. And Tailwind lets you cross-post your scheduled Insta post automatically to Facebook and/or Pinterest, where it’s not common to post that many hashtags in one post, you’re good to go and don’t need to go in and edit your Pin or Facebook post.
Now Tailwind will automatically post your photo or video with your awesome caption and the hashtags in the 1st comment.
Of course, hashtags that you use in your text will persist and will not be included in the first comment.
Video auto posting
Here is the 2nd new goodie of the Tailwind app.
Video posts are becoming increasingly popular and are hard to imagine without on other social media. Also, Instagram got video posts for a while and now you can also schedule your videos right in your Tailwind app like you would do with your images.
Also, according to statistics, video posts receive more views and more than twice as many comments.
Of course, the video must have the right format and size:
- max. 30 frames per second
- max. 4 GB file size
- max. 60 seconds video length
- MP4 or MOV file format
You have 5 video options to choices from:
- Square video: 600 x 1080
- Portrait Video: 600 x 750 bis 1080 x 1350
- Landscape Video: 600 x 315 bis 1080 x 608
- Stories Video: 600 x 1067 bis 1080 x 1920
- Carousel Video: 600 x 700 bis 1080 x 1080
The square format was the only ratio to share your videos on Instagram for a while and is still the most common one.
You will find more infos on the video formats on the blog.tailwindapp.com
