Diamonds are a girl’s best friend  In this post I will show you, how to create a great thumbtack art picture
What you will need:
- Canvas (here already painted in pink)
- pattern
- thumbtacks
Tip:Â Unfortunately, I only had colored thumbtacks, so I decided to remove these plastic caps. That was fun! Â But you can already buy them without the plastic caps.
Ok, here we go. There are 2 ways to push the pins into the canvas. You can first draw your motif onto the canvas and pin the thumbtack over it, or you place your pattern onto the canvas and press the thumbtacks through it. But the paper pattern has to be removed later.
It is also enough, if it’s an easy pattern, to only push the thumbtacks into the corners of your pattern and do the rest after removing the paper pattern from your canvas. So it doesn’t take for ever, to remove the thumbtacks to get the pattern removed.
 Â
I chose the second method, but I noticed later on that it is quite time-consuming. So I would give you the tip to draw the motif onto the canvas first. As you can see below. This is much easier and quicker.

I hope my instructions were helpful and I could give you some ideas and inspirations. I am looking forward reading your comments or receiving pictures of your own creations.
I hope to see you again soon.
